The Massage Lady
Professional Massage Therapy

About Me

My name is Whitney Vaughn. I was born and raised in Massachusetts, I moved to Rhode Island in 2015—but my journey with massage therapy started long before that. Even as a child, the human body just made sense to me. After my mom’s tennis matches, it was me she’d ask to rub her shoulders. That early instinct to help others feel better physically never left me.

As someone with my own structural challenges, I’ve spent years receiving intensive bodywork. After each session, I remember thinking, everyone should get to feel this good in their body. That feeling eventually became my mission.

I graduated from Spa Tech Institute in 2009 and became a Licensed Massage Therapist in Massachusetts. Early in my career, I worked as a traveling massage therapist, offering sessions at various events and venues. After relocating to Rhode Island, I continued my education and passed the Massage & Bodywork Licensing Exam through Lincoln Tech in 2019.

I’ve now been specializing in deep tissue work for over 14 years, with a strong focus on rehabilitation after injury rather than traditional relaxation. I’ve worked with clients recovering from repetitive strain, postural imbalances, athletic overuse, and everything from slips and falls to chronic tension that builds up over time. My clients often describe my pressure as “deep plus.” Every session is customized in real time, based on what your body needs that day—no cookie-cutter treatments here.

Over time, clients began referring to me simply as The Massage Lady—the one they’d tell their friends they had to see. In 2022, I embraced that name and opened my own space, proudly offering individualized bodywork that helps people feel stronger, more aligned, and more at ease.

If you're looking for meaningful, targeted work—“deep plus” included—I’d love to work with you.
